Olight Freyr Multicolour Rechargeable LED Torch

The Olight Freyr is a multicoloured torch offering white, red, green and blue outputs and is powered by a 21700 lithium-ion battery.

It is a dual switch tactical hand torch and is capable of 1750 lumens output on the highest turbo setting, before dropping down to 850 lumens after 2 minutes, and then after a further 2 hours 30 minutes the output will drop again to 300 lumens to prevent the LED from overheating.

The high performance cool white LED produces a uniform beam for a good coverage of light and can reach up to a maximum of 360 metres range. The RGB LEDs consist of a 635 nm red LED, a 515 nm green LED and a 470 nm blue LED and are useful for preserving night vision, inspection and signalling.

A silicone traffic wand is included to enhance the signalling functionality of the Freyr and once attached to the end provides a cone of light which can be used to direct traffic or as a marker etc.

Tactical features include a good grip because of the deep knurling design and a tail cap design that allows for easy operation while wearing gloves due to the raised button, but without compromising accidental activation thanks to the three raised struts that not only preventing it easily turning on but also allow for tail stand capability. There is also a proximity sensor under the front lens that will lower the output of the Freyr if it becomes close to an object in order to protect your eyesight and prevent overheating of the torch, please see the note below and the manual for further information.

It is powered using the included Olight 21700 5000 mAh customised lithium-ion battery, which is recharged inside the torch using the included MCC3 magnetic charging cable. Simply connect the magnet to the base of the Freyr and plug the USB end into a computer or the mains using a suitable USB adaptor (2 A recommended for fastest charging). The indicator light on the magnet will go red while charging is in progress and turn green once charging is complete after approximately 5 hours if the power supply is sufficient enough to support the 2 A output, otherwise the cable will output at a lower rate or 1 A or 1.5 A depending on the power supply.

Featuring three white brightness levels, RGB outputs and white strobe, the torch is operated with the side switch and tactical tail switch. The tactical tail switch is a quiet press button with minimal noise for tactical purposes and can only access the white outputs, while the side switch can primarily access the colour outputs and also the white outputs.

A single half press of the tail switch turns on white low, or a full press turns on high white and momentary operation is also possible in high and low by holding the button instead of releasing, with the light turning off once released. A single press of the side switch will turn on in the last used colour or moonlight, and once on hold down the button to cycle through red, green, blue and white moonlight outputs. Moonlight can also be directly accessed by holding the side switch for over 1 second from off. A quick double click of the side switch gives instant access to the high white mode, and another double click will cycle to low white mode. Three quick presses will activate the white strobe mode and a single press will exit.

The handy lockout function prevents the torch from being accidentally activated and is accessed by pressing and holding the side switch for 2 seconds. The moonlight mode will briefly flash and the light will be locked out, displaying only the red indicator if the button is pressed. To exit lockout press and hold the button down for over 1 second.

The detachable dual pocket clip can be attached to clothing easily from both sides while the durable holster provides security when you are carrying the torch in your bag or on a belt.

Please Note: The proximity sensor will not work if covered by dirt, water or scratches on the front lens. The sensing distance if between 3 cm to 50 cm depending of the reflectivity of the obstruction. The brightness will lower if an obstruction or bright light is in front of the sensor. The torch should only be used in moonlight or low when using the silicone traffic wand.
