Nitecore MH27UV Rechargeable LED Torch

The MH27UV has a maximum output of 1000 lumens from the Cree XP-L HI V3 LED, offering four brightness levels in total, plus independent red, blue and Ultraviolet LEDs. Special modes of strobe, SOS, location beacon and police warning signals are also available.

Featured is a 365 nm wavelength 500 mW Ultraviolet LED which can be used in gemological appraisal, document examination, currency detection, forensic science, Smart Water and SelectaDNA and many other applications. Low illumination red light is useful for tactical applications such as preserving night vision and animal spotting, while the blue light can be used to trace blood.

Powered by a single rechargeable 18650 lithium-ion battery (not included), the MH27UV has the ability to charge the battery inside the torch. Simply turn the torch on first and then plug the supplied charging lead into the micro USB port and the other end into the computer, or with suitable adaptor it can be plugged into the mains or car charger. The blue indicator light will blink every 1.5 seconds to show charging is in progress and will go solid blue once charging is complete.

Alternatively the MH27UV can be powered by two RCR123A lithium-ion cells or two CR123A non-rechargeable lithium cells, however these batteries types can NOT be charged within the torch.

By utilising the revolutionary SC5 technology that the Cree XP-L HI V3 LED employs, the MH27UV produces a powerful beam capable of reaching up to 462 meters, which is normally only achievable with a searchlight with a much larger reflector.

Featuring a tail switch for momentary illumination and on/off functions, there is also + and - side mode switches that cycle through the modes in the order of UV, red, blue, ultra-low, mid, high and turbo when pressing the + button and in reverse order when pressing the - button. Pressing the + and - simultaneously will enter into the specials modes, cycling through blue flash, red flash, blue/red alternate flash, strobe, beacon and SOS modes using the + and - buttons. Directly access turbo mode by holding the + button with the torch on, and directly access UV by holding the - button with the torch on.

For ease of use the intelligent memory circuit will remember the last setting used, apart from location beacon and SOS.

Note: Advanced temperature regulation technology allows the MH27UV to dynamically adjust output performance according to its body temperature. This prevents damage from overheating and prolongs it's working life.
