Fenix PD40R V3.0 Rechargeable LED Torch

The Fenix PD40R V3.0 is a compact rechargeable torch, that boasts an amazing 3000 lumens output with an increased beam range of 500 metres.

Equipped with a powerful Luminus SFT70 LED and powered by one high capacity 21700 rechargeable lithium-ion battery, the Fenix PD40R V3.0 puts out a superb performance with a beam distance of 500 metres in turbo. The overall beam profile delivers a wide area illumination.

The included Fenix 21700 5000 mAh lithium-ion battery charges inside the torch via the USB-C charging port for faster charging. Remove the dust cover from the USB-C port, located on the neck of the torch, and plug the included cable into the torch one end and the other end into a computer/laptop or a suitable USB mains/car adaptor.

The LED charging indicator next to the charging port will go red to indicate charging is in progress and will turn green once charging is complete after approximately 3 hours when charging the included battery.

Four brightness levels of low, mid, high and turbo are available, as well as SOS and strobe. Due to the extreme output the turbo mode will automatically decrease to protect the LED from overheating before increasing the brightness again as the torch cools.

The PD40R V3.0 features a mechanical rotary switch, which is free from magnetic field interference. The smooth switch allows easy and clear selection of the modes with the four marker lines which get longer in length to correspond with the increase in output. The SOS mode and strobe marker are the last settings, strobe mode is indicated by a lightening bolt symbol.

With the anti-slip design you can easily use one hand to rotate the switch to the right to increase brightness or all the way right to access SOS and strobe, and then turn it left to decrease the brightness and turn it off. This operation is simple even with heavy duty gloves, and can be done without looking or fumbling around for a button.

The LED next to the charging port is also a battery level indicator and will light up for 3 seconds when the torch is first turned on, with either a green, green flashing, red or red flashing light to show the battery power remaining and notify you when the battery needs charging.

When the voltage of the torch drops below a preset level, the voltage warning function will downshift to a lower brightness level the until the low level is reached, at which point the indicator next to the charging port will flash red to remind you to charge the battery.

Due to the wide range of outputs the PD40R V3.0 is perfect for a range of activities and tasks, making it a great all-rounder.

Note: *The turbo output is measured at total run-time, including output at reduced levels due to temperature or the built-in protection mechanism. The over-heat protection will gradually drop the turbo brightness level into mid brightness level.

Tested in laboratory conditions to ANSI/PLATO FL1 standard using 1 x Fenix ARB-L21-5000 21700 lithium-ion rechargeable battery under the temperature of 21±3°C and humidity of 50% - 80%. Results may vary between torch, battery and environments.
