Olight X9R Marauder Rechargeable LED Torch

£399.96 £549.90

The X9R Marauder is the largest and brightest torch Olight have ever produced and it is the most powerful torch that we have on the website. This powerhouse offers a mega jaw dropping 25000 lumens output on the highest level, before dropping down to 6400 lumens after 3 minutes to prevent the LEDs from overheating.

Six Cree XHP70.2 LEDs give the X9R the capability to produce 25000 lumens, but not without the help of the rechargeable lithium-ion battery pack that consists of eight high discharge 18650 cells. Powerful LEDs and a high discharge battery pack paired with the six individual orange peel reflectors that house the LEDs results in a beam with a central hotspot reaching an impressive 630 metre maximum range, accompanied by a large spill beam that provides massive flood lighting.

The battery pack is charge internally by inserting either the mains power adaptor or car charging adaptor into the charging port which is located on the neck of the torch next to the switch. If using the mains adaptor connect it to the wall plug adaptor and plug it into the mains, or alternatively plug the car charging adaptor into a car socket.

There are eight LEDs indicators either side of the power button. The eight on the right show the remaining battery power level while the torch is in use and they also light up while the torch is being charged. The top illuminated light will blink while charging, eventually turning solid blue at which point the light above will begin to blink, and this continues until all eight lights are solid blue when the torch is fully charged. A full charge takes approximately 4 hours via the mains and 7 hours via the car.

The eight blue LED indicators on the right display the current brightness level from 1-8. The little notches next to each LED have a number next to them to show the lumen output, but the numbers need to be x100 to show the true output. For example level 8 shows the number 250 next to it, but this needs to be x100 for the true output of 25000 lumens.

A single press of the side button turns the torch on/off and holding the button down while on will cycle through levels 1-8. The intelligent memory function will always remember the last output used for levels 1-4, and will remember levels 5-8 for 10 minutes after the light is turned off and after that time period is will revert to L4 as the memorised level.

Quickly double pressing the switch will enter L8 and holding the button down from off for 1 second will instantly access L1. Triple clicks of the button will activate the strobe mode and a single press will take you back to the normal modes.

As well as the active thermal management system that reduces the output when the temperature gets too hot, the X9R also features a nifty proximity sensor that will automatically reduce the output if the head of the torch becomes too close to an object when it is in the higher settings so that the heat expelled from the torch doesn't cause any damage.

A handy lockout feature prevents the torch from being accidentally activated when not in use. This is done by holding the switch down while the torch is off until it enters L1 and then turns off to signal that it has entered lockout mode. Press and hold for over 1 second to return to normal functionality.

A shoulder strap is included for easily carrying of the torch and is attached to the torch via the metal loop on the tail of the torch and a second metal loop that is tucked away on the head of the torch and needs to be pulled out in order to attached the strap. Also included is a rubber anti roll ring for the head of the torch that sits just above the pull out metal loop and prevents the torch from rolling on a flat surface.

The torch and accessories all come enclosed in a heavy duty hard shell case with large clips to secure the lid. The case also has the ability to alter the pressure inside as if the air pressure is altered due to altitude, on a plane for example, the case may not close or open. Therefore if the pressure needs to be altered, simply turn the counterbalance valve anti clockwise to balance the pressure.

Great torch

Fantastic. Great level of illumination. Is heavy but well manageable with the shoulder strap. Would recommend.

Packs a big punch

Received well packed and shipped fast. Torch is totally amazing and although a big investment I can feel it will last forever and outshine anything else on the market at present.

Olight X9R

I have had OLight torches for years that I use predominantly for offshore sailing and the quality is fantastic. This beast is huge which I thought was probably on the verge of being impractical for my use however I was proved wrong recently, when coming into an unfamiliar port (Conway) at night with difficult to spot & regularly repositioned channel marks this thing lit up the way like a mini sun! Not EDC but when you need a lot of light this torch is on another level.
