Olight PL-3R Weapon Mountable LED Torch

The Olight PL-3R Valkyrie is an updated version of the popular PL-3 Valkyrie, featuring a higher maximum output of 1500 lumens from the high performance cool white LED and is now rechargeable. As this is a high drain device, the temperature regulation will automatically drop the brightness to 600 lumens after 2 minutes to protect the LED.

It is designed for handguns with a picantinny rail or a glock style rail and comes with two mount adaptors (1913 and GL) to make it compatible with a wide range of handguns. There is also an adjustable sliding block with three positions to allow for flexible positioning on a variety of rails.

The PL-3R is attached to the weapon rail using the secure screw locking mechanism by loosening the screw on the side by hand, or with the included hex wrench. Once loose the screw pushes in to open up the bracket and allow the PL-3R to be positioned onto the rail. When in place the screw can be released to allow the bracket to close around the rail, and the screw can be tightened to keep the torch securely in place.

Two ambidextrous switches and are located on the back of the light and are pushed from the side to activate the light. A quick press and release of the either button will turn the light on in the last used output and another quick press will turn the light off. If you don't press and release the button quick enough it will trigger the momentary operation and the light will stay on until you release the button.

While the light is on the modes can be cycled through with two quick presses of either button or to turn the torch directly on to the bright mode double press one of the buttons while the torch is off. Strobe can be activated or exited by pressing and holding both buttons at the same time. To switch between the high modes quickly and continuously press one of the buttons at least ten times and hold for at least one second on the last press. The torch will flash either twice to indicate High 1 mode or once to indicate High 2. Release to turn the torch off.

To avoid accidental activation the PL-3R features a lockout mode. The torch will arrive in lockout mode, to unlock press and hold both buttons simultaneously. To lock the torch press and hold one button for 0.5 seconds and then press the additional button and continue to hold both buttons for a further 2 seconds until the light has turned off.

The PL-3R is rechargeable, featuring a built in 900 mAh lithium-polymer battery. To charge to the torch simply connect the included magnetic charger to the back of the torch and plug the USB into any suitable USB power source. The charging cable will turn red to indicate charging in in progress and turn green once charging is complete.
