Olight Perun 2 Rechargeable LED Head Torch

The Olight Perun 2 replaces the Perun, with an upgrade in lumen output and battery type, but maintains useful features such as the magnetic charging with a MCC3 cable, low battery vibration warning and a proximity sensor.

A high performance cool white LED emits a maximum output of 2500 lumens, which drops to 800 lumens after 2 minutes use to protect the LED from overheating and will then drop again to 20% output after 2 hours, 10 minutes. The TIR bead lens provides a wide, soft beam with a broad hotspot which is perfect for up close lighting and carrying out tasks in your immediate area.

Unlike a traditional hand torch, the light does not come from end end of the torch and instead comes from the side of the torch making the Perun 2 a versatile unit. It can easily be used in the hand, or when attached to a shirt pocket with the included clip the light is perfectly pointing outwards from the body so it can be used hands free. Another hands free use is with the convenient magnet on the base of the torch that allows it to be attached to magnetic surfaces, making it a useful tool for the workshop.

The Perun 2 can also be used as a head torch with the compatible included headband, which features a silicone bracket that holds the torch in place on the headband.

Featuring an infrared sensor, the Perun 2 will automatically reduce the output if something becomes within too close proximity and will then shut down if the obstruction continues for more than 60 seconds. This is useful if the torch hasn't been put into lockout mode and turns on in a pocket or back pack, as it will then turn itself off if the obstruction remains too close, thus saving battery life and preventing overheating.

Another handy feature of the Perun 2 is the low battery warning that causes the torch to vibrate once every 30 seconds when the battery power level drops below 10%, unless the torch is in moonlight mode, so you will know when it is time to charge the torch without even having to look at it.

It is powered using the included Olight 21700 4000 mAh tailored lithium-ion battery, which is recharged inside the torch using the included MCC3 magnetic charging cable that offers faster charging speed thanks to the 2 A output capability. Simply connect the magnet to the base of the Perun 2 and plug the USB end into a computer or the mains using a suitable USB adaptor (2 A recommended for fastest charging). The indicator light on the magnet will go red while charging is in progress and turn green once charging is complete after approximately 3 hours, 30 minutes if the power supply is sufficient enough to support the 2 A output, otherwise the cable will output at a lower rate or 1 A or 1.5 A depending on the power supply.

Featuring five brightness levels and SOS, the torch is turned on and off with the push button that is located on the top of the torch. Select the brightness level with the torch turned on by holding the switch to cycle through moonlight, low, mid and high in turn, whilst a quick double click will access and exit turbo. The moonlight mode of 5 lumens can be accessed directly when the torch is off by pressing and holding down the switch. SOS is activated by three quick presses of the switch.

A handy lockout function prevents the torch from being accidentally activated and is accessed by pressing and holding the switch for 2 seconds while the light it turned off.
