Olight Perun 2 Mini Rechargeable Versatile LED Head Torch

The Olight Perun 2 Mini is a versatile head torch that updates the original, now with a higher output of 1100 lumens from a high performance cool white LED, which drops to 250 lumens after 2 minutes use to protect the LED from overheating.

A new feature is the addition of a red LED, which preserves your night vision and is good for wildlife observation, night reading, astronomy and night photography.

Unlike a traditional hand torch, the light does not come from the end of the torch and instead comes from the side of the torch making the Perun Mini a versatile unit. It can easily be used in the hand, or when attached to a shirt pocket with the included clip the light is perfectly pointing outwards from the body so it can be used hands free. The PMMA optical lens provides a wide, soft beam with a broad hotspot which is perfect for up close lighting and carrying out tasks in your immediate area.

The Perun Mini can also be used as a head torch with the included and updated headband, which now features a silicon strap on the headband bracket to hold it and place but also allow for 180° rotation so the light can be angled where you need it.

It is powered using the updated Olight IMR16340 650 mAh tailored lithium-ion battery, which is recharged inside the torch using the included MCC1A magnetic charging cable. Simply connect the magnet to the base of the Perun 2 Mini and plug the USB end into a computer or the mains using a suitable USB adaptor. The indicator light on the magnet will go red while charging is in progress and turn green once charging is complete after approximately 1 hour, 10 minutes, if the power supply is sufficient enough to support the 1 A output, otherwise charging may take longer.

Another new upgraded feature is the battery level indicator built into the switch that lets you know when the battery needs charging. A green light indicates above 60% power, an orange light indicates 10-60 % power, a red light indicates less than 5-10% power and a red blinking light means less than 5% power and that the torch needs to be charged.

Featuring five brightness levels, red light and SOS, the torch is turned on and off in white mode with a single press of the push button that is located on the top of the torch. Select the brightness level with the torch turned on by holding the switch to cycle through low, mid and high in turn, whilst a quick double click will access and exit turbo. The moonlight mode of 2 lumens can be accessed directly when the torch is off by pressing and holding down the switch.

Red light is directly accessed from off with a double press of the button, and once on in red mode the SOS can be accessed by holding down the button to cycle between SOS and red outputs.

The Perun 2 Mini contains two timer settings; long timer (9 minutes) and short timer (3 minutes). Double click and hold the side switch while the light is on to enter this setting. One blink indicates the 3 minutes mode, and two blinks indicates the 9 minutes mode.

A handy lockout function prevents the torch from being accidentally activated and is accessed by pressing and holding the switch for 2 seconds while the light is off. It will firstly enter moonlight mode, but continue to hold the button and the light will then lockout. The torch also features a dual purpose magnetic tail cap, so as well as charging, you can use it as a hands-free work light by attaching it to magnetic surfaces.
