Olight Open Pro Rechargeable LED Torch, Pen & Green Laser

The Olight Open Pro is a multi-functional rechargeable penlight, that can be used as a light, a green laser pointer and also as an actual pen to write with.

It is a slim, single tail switch penlight that has a high performance white LED with a colour temperature of 5700 K built into the pocket clip of the pen and is capable of 120 lumens output on the high setting to produces a wide smooth beam thanks the to the textured lens. It can be unscrewed from the pen base to make it even more compact when using the light, and as the LED is on the pocket clip it nicely points outwards when clipped over a shirt pocket with the body on the inside of the pocket.

The green light comes out the top of the pen which allows the pen to be comfortably held in the hand to point with and is useful for presentations, tour guides highlighting areas along the way or just playing with the cat! It is a class 1 laser which is deemed to present no serious risk to eyes or skin, however we recommend that it not be directly shone into the eyes or onto skin, and should only be handled by responsible adults.

The pen nib is retractable and can be revealed by sliding the button, which is located on the body, along the L shape track until it locks into place and you can then begin writing. The pen has black ink and writes extremely smooth, while the twisted indent design in the aluminium body provides a good grip. An ink refill is also included and can be easily swapped over when the first one runs out.

The L shape button also controls the functions of the white light and green laser by pushing upwards away from the L shape track. To access the green laser pointer push up, hold and release the button with the light off and push again to turn it off.

A quick push up and release will turn on the white light which always default to the moonlight mode when first turned on, and then the modes can be cycled by pushing the button up and holding it to cycle through low, mid, high, low etc. and released to select the mode. High can be directly accessed from off with a quick double push, and another quick double push after will revert to moonlight mode or is can be directly accessed with the light on in the same way, and the second double push will instead revert to the previous brightness level.

The Open Pro is powered by a built-in 110 mAh lithium polymer battery, which is recharged via the USB Type-C charging port. To charge the light simply unscrew the top section of the penlight, just below the blue decorative ring, and place the bottom half to one side. Plug in the included USB Type-C cable into the charging port and plug the other end into a standard USB-A port or a compatible USB adaptor. The charging indicator light below the port will go red while charging is in progress and turn off once charging is complete after approximately 55 minutes.

The beauty of having an Open Pro is that it has three very useful features in one and is easy to carry, especially with the attached pocket clip. The torch can be used for small tasks and even provide light when writing in a dark room as it can be detached from the pen section, or you can be ready to go and give a presentation with the green laser pointer (or play with the cat if presentations aren't your thing!).
