Olight Marauder 2 Rechargeable LED Torch

The Olight Marauder 2 replaces the popular X7R Marauder, remaining compact and rechargeable yet offering an upgraded super powerful output of 14000 lumens at Level 7 in floodlight mode, which will have a timed downshift to prevent the LED from overheating.

A large LED has been added in the centre of the head to enable an 800 m spotlight beam, and 12 small LEDs circle the edge to produce the 14000 lumen floodlight beam.

Seven brightness levels in both spot and flood are available, and are controlled using the two switches on the body. The lower slide switch toggles between the spot or flood output, pushing up for spot or down for flood. The circular blue switch will turn the light on and off with a single press, however to prevent accidental activation the Marauder 2 will automatically lock after 30 seconds without use, so the button has to be rotated 90° to unlock the torch.

With the light unlocked and turned on, the brightness level can be changed by twisting the rotary button clockwise to increase the brightness or anti-clockwise to decrease the brightness. The indicator up the left hand side has seven lights that will illuminate with the corresponding number of lights to the brightness level you are on, for example level 4 will show four lights. Up the right hand side the indicator shows the battery status, and both sets of indicators will display for 3 seconds after the brightness level is accessed. If the button is pressed with the light locked, it will display battery status and brightness level indicators up the sides.

A single press will turn the light off and the last used level, except level 7, will be remembered the next time the light is turned on. With the button unlocked, a quick double press will provide instant access to level 7 and another quick double press will drop it to level 4. A quick triple press of the unlocked button will enter the strobe mode.

As well as the active thermal management system that reduces the output when the temperature gets too hot, the Marauder 2 also features a nifty proximity sensor that will automatically reduce the output if the head of the torch becomes too close to an object when it is in the higher settings so that the heat expelled from the torch doesn't cause any damage.

Powered by a built-in 54Wh rechargeable battery pack, the Marauder 2 is recharged via the upgraded USB-C charging port which allows fast charging and reverse charging, and is shielded by a improved port cover design resembling aperture blades. The charging port is cleverly concealed to provide the IPX8 waterproof rating and is revealed by twisting the tail of the torch anti clockwise. The provided USB-C to USB-C cable can then be inserted and connected to the included USB-C wall adaptor. The charging indicator will glow red to show charging is in progress and turn green to show charging is complete after approximately 2 hours, 30 minutes (when using PD 30 W).

The same USB-C port can also be used to charge external devices, such a mobile phones, thanks to the innovative reverse charging capability, saving the need for second port. The indicator will flash green when an external device is connected, and will stop charging if the battery level reaches 5%. Only one device can be charged at once and you must not plug in a multi USB block.

As well as a hidden charging port the Marauder 2 also has a hidden lanyard hole that is tucked away on the front when not in use, and can be pulled out to attach the included heavy duty lanyard. The body is made from aluminium alloy for durability and also has a silicone grip for a firm hold.
