Nitecore TINI 2 Rechargeable LED Key Ring Torch

The latest generation in the TINI series is the TINI 2, which retains popular features such as the as the dual switch design, daily mode and demo mode, advanced power cut-off technology for an ultra-low standby power consumption and a built-in 280 mAh battery.

In addition to this it now has two emitters for a higher maximum output of 500 lumens (momentary output) from two OSRAM P8 LEDs, which is an incredible output from the compact body, an OLED screen display and utilises a USB Type-C charging port for easy and fast charging.

The OLED display provides information about the current status of the TINI 2 when the light is turned on. It successively shows the brightness level & lumen output, the user mode and the run-time remaining. After the screen goes out it can be reactivated by pressing the mode button. There is also a display demonstration function, but it is for demonstration purposes only and not a reflection of the light status.

The operational buttons comprise of a power button and a mode button. The power button turns the TINI 2 on with a short press and then the mode button cycles through ultra-low, low, mid and high with each press. A single press of the power button will turn the light off. The TINI 2 will remember the last used brightness level the next time it is turned on.

Turbo is accessed with the light on or off by holding the mode button down and is a momentary function that will return to the previous state once the mode button is released. Ultra-low can be instantly accessed while the light is off by holding down the power button.

The TINI 2 also features either daily mode or demo mode. When in demo mode the light will only activate for 30 seconds with a timer showing on the display and if untouched in this time the light will go out, which is useful if you are quickly using the light to open a door or accidentally turn the light on without knowing. If the light is reactivated again within 3 seconds of turning off in demo mode, then the light will temporarily enter daily mode and stay on until turned off with the power button. This mode is recommended if the TINI 2 will only be used occasionally for short time periods.

When in daily mode the light will stay on until you press the power button to turn the light off. To switch between daily and demo mode, simply hold both the power and mode buttons down at the same time until the light flashes once to indicate demo mode or twice to indicate daily mode and the screen will also display the selected mode.

To prevent accidental activation, the TINI 2 has two lockout modes. Lockout 1 is a half lockout mode and disables the use of the power button, however you can still hold down the mode button to access turbo should you still need partial access to light in an emergency. This is activated by holding down the power button while the light is on until the screen shows a padlock icon with a 1.

Lockout 2 is a full lockout mode and disables all output functions. It is accessed the same way as lockout 1, however you continue to hold the button longer until the screen shows the padlock icon with a 2. To unlock the light, press the power button once and release and then immediately press and hold until the screen displays the key symbol to show the progress bar for unlocking and the light comes on.

It is powered by a built-in 280 mAh lithium-ion rechargeable battery which is recharged via the USB-C charging port located on the side of the torch. Remove the dust cover and plug in a USB-C cable (not included) at one end and plug the other end into a USB port or a compatible USB adaptor. The indicator will blink slowly and the screen will display battery status while charging is in progress and once charging is complete after approximately 1 hour, 45 minutes the indicator will be solid and the screen will display a full battery icon. A battery protection circuit is incorporated that provides over-discharge, over-charge and anti short circuiting protection.

Remaining battery power is indicated by pressing the mode switch while the TINI 2 is turned off and the OLED screen will display the battery level bar, the voltage, the current mode (demo or daily) and the memorised brightness level. When the battery voltage is below 3.4 V the power indicator beneath the buttons will flash blue every 2 seconds to inform the user to charge the battery.

The advanced temperature regulation module allows the TINI 2 to regulate its output and adapt to the ambient environment to maintain optimal performance.

An included carabiner key ring allows you to easily attach the torch to your keys or a bag strap so that it is always on hand, or you can pop it in a bag or pocket ensuring that it is in lockout mode for safety.
