Nitecore P18 LED Torch

The Nitecore P18 is a compact and lightweight tactical torch that utilises a Cree XHP35 HD LED for a maximum output of 1800 lumens on the turbo setting and also features an auxiliary red LED. Crystal coating technology combined with precision digital optics technology provides extreme reflector performance that enables the beam to reach up to 182 metres.

The included 3100 mAh IMR 18650 battery has a high discharge current of 35 A to drive the LED to the fullest and achieve the turbo output. We recommend to charge the battery with a Nitecore battery charger that is designed for IMR batteries to ensure compatibility. A protected 18650 cell can also be used, however it needs to have a high discharge current of at least 8 A in order to work and if you use a protected cell it cannot be longer than 65 mm otherwise it will not fit properly in the battery compartment. The P18 can also use CR123A lithium metal non rechargeable batteries, however the turbo setting is unavailable if you are using CR123A batteries.

The P18 has a dual switch design which allows the white light and red light to be controlled independently. The silent tactical tail switch controls the white light and can be half pressed for tactical momentary operation or fully pressed in to turn the torch on and off. When the light is on, half press the tail switch to cycle through ultralow, low, mid, high and turbo. Momentary access to turbo can be achieved by half pressing and holding the button with the light is on or fully pressing and holding the button while the light is off. Ultralow can also be directly accessed with the light off by holding down both the tail switch and side switch.

Three special modes of strobe, beacon and SOS are available and can be accessed with the light on by fully pressing the tail switch and holding until the strobe comes on. The strobe has randomly changing frequencies which provides a stronger dizzying effect for tactical use. Repeating this action will cycle the special modes and can be exited back to the last brightness setting with a half press or turned off with a full press. The intelligent memory function will automatically recall the last used brightness setting or strobe next time the torch is turned on.

The P18 also has a red light setting which is useful for preserving your night vision, animal spotting and night reading amongst other uses. The red light can be activated using the metal side switch with the light off by pressing and holding until it comes on and a short press will turn the red light off again.

The advance temperature regulation (ATR) technology regulates the output of the P18 according to the working condition and ambient environment, thus maintaining the optimal performance.

The red LED is also a power indicator and can be used to check the battery voltage by pressing the side switch for over 3 seconds. The light come on red first and then will flash to show the voltage, for example if the voltage is 4.2 V the light will flash four times, pause and then flash two more times.

This pocket sized torch can easily be carried with the stainless steel pocket clip, wrist lanyard or on a belt using the included holster.

*The run-time for turbo mode is tested without the temperature regulation. Turbo is only accessible with an IMR 18650 or a protected cell with over 8 A discharge rate.
