Nitecore EC23 LED Torch

The Nitecore EC23 utilises a Cree XHP-35 HD E2 LED and has a maximum output of 1800 lumens, which is super powerful relative to its size.

For a torch of this size to reach maximum output it requires a 18650 lithium-ion battery with a high discharge current of 8 A or higher, or a IMR18650 lithium-ion battery. Protected 18650 batteries with a discharge current less than 8 A are not compatible with this torch. Two CR123A non rechargeable batteries or two RCR123 lithium-ion rechargeable batteries can be used with the EC23 but cannot access the turbo output.

Five brightness levels as well as three special modes are available. A single press will turn the light on/off, holding the button from off for 0.5 will instantly access ultra low and a long 1.5 press and release from off will instantly access constant turbo or inf you continue to hold the button down longer it will enter momentary turbo and the light will go off when you release the button.

With the light on, hold the push button down within 3 seconds to cycle through ultra-low, low, mid, high, turbo and release the button at your desired output. The light will remember the previously used brightness levels.

To access the special modes quickly triple press the button in any state. Press and hold the button for more than 1 second to cycle through SOS, beacon, strobe and a single press will exit this mode. The special modes cannot be memorised.

A blue LED battery power indicator is built into the switch and it will flash to show battery voltage each time the battery is inserted. When power levels reach 50% the light will blink once every two seconds to notify you and then it will blink quickly when power levels are low.

Low: 55 lumens; 16 hours run-time; 35 m beam range
Ultra Low: 1 lumen; 200 hours run-time; 5 m beam range

Note: *Turbo and high run-times are calculated based on a theoretical arithmetic due to the ATR.
