NEBO Inspector 500+ Rechargeable LED Penlight

The Nebo Inspector 500+ is a rechargeable penlight, with a maximum momentary output of 500 lumens in the turbo mode, that also features a 360° area light for versatile use.

The turbo output, which is designed as a boost setting, allowing 30 seconds output at a time in order to prevent the temperature of the torch becoming too high and thus protecting the LED. The high output is a constant setting of 250 lumens that lasts for 3 hours, 30 minutes and one other brightness settings are available as well as strobe. These same modes are also accessible as the area light instead of the torch light, but with slightly reduced outputs, and can be accessed by pulling out the head of the torch on the knurled section to reveal the 360° area lighting. The area lighting is at the end of the torch, so is great if you need to look into a small space and cover a larger area.

The magnetic tail button operates the torch, with a single press from off turning the torch on in high and a second press within 8 seconds cycling through to low. Direct to low is also possible by instead holding down the button from off, and you can then cycle from low to high, which is great for low lighting level situations. If the torch is on for longer than 8 seconds the next press will instead turn the torch off.

Turbo is activated by holding down the button while the torch is on or off and will last for 30 seconds before reverting to the previous mode (unless you exit early with a single press), whilst a quick double click at any time will access strobe and a single press will exit to the last setting. Any time the torch changes brightness it will do so gradually which is easier on the eyes and also helps to preserve battery life. The area lighting is operated in the same way when the head is extended to reveal the 360° lighting.

It utilises flex power technology which allows the torch to be powered by the included rechargeable 10850 lithium-ion battery or the Inspector 500+ can also use two AAA alkaline batteries as a back up when you run out of charge or don't have access to recharge the torch.

The included battery is charged inside the torch via the micro USB port which is on the neck of the torch and revealed by pulling down the cover below the head. The supplied cable is plugged into the micro USB port and then connected to a standard USB port or USB adaptor. The light next to the port goes red while charging is in progress and changes to blue once charging is complete after approximately 2 hours charging time.

The long pen like design makes it the perfect inspection light and the strong metal pocket clip allows for easy carrying attached to a shirt pocket, belt or backpack. The magnetic base can be magnetised to many metal surfaces for easy hands free use.

With an ingress protection rating of IPX7, the Inspector 500+ is fully waterproof up to 1 metres depth for 30 minutes.
