Ledlenser P6R-QC CORE Rechargeable LED Torch

The P6R-QC CORE is a rechargeable quad colour hand torch that provides a maximum output of 270 lumens of white light, as well as offering red, green and blue outputs.

Red light preserves the eye's natural night vision and is good for low level night reading, animal watching or astrology, while green light is also great for animal watching as it is almost invisible to animals but is also used for map reading. Blue light is useful for some types of forensic analysis and allows some liquids to appear with higher contrast.

The switch sits on the tail of the torch and the low profile rubberised button has comfortable and easy operation. A single press will turn the light on in high, and will cycle through high, mid, low, 1 lumen and off in the current selected colour mode when the button is pressed within 3 seconds of the last press. If left in any mode for longer than 3 seconds then the next press will turn the light off.

If the tail button is pressed 5 times in quick succession it will enter the strobe mode in the current selected colour output and you can then either hold the button for 0.5 seconds to enter the multicoloured strobe or a single press will turn the light off. The colour outputs can easily be changed between with the torch turned on or off by twisting the head to line up the white arrow with either the white, red, green or blue line.

The tail end unscrews to reveal the micro USB port that sits at the end of the battery carrier, which can be separately unscrewed to be able to fit the included Ledlenser 2500 mAh 18650 lithium-ion battery inside the carrier before being tightly screwed back in and the tail cap screwed back on.

Once installed the battery can be charged inside the torch via the micro USB port on the end of the carrier by plugging in the included cable, and the standard USB at the other end plugs into a suitable USB port or adaptor. The LED indicator next to the port will glow red while charging is in progress and turn green to show charging is complete after approximately 3 hours, 20 minutes for a full charge.

An advanced focus system allows you to smoothly transition the light from spot to flood by sliding the head of the torch backwards and forwards, while the included lanyard can be threaded through the tail end and is useful for carrying the torch.
