Ledlenser HF4R Work Rechargeable LED Head Torch

The Ledlenser HF4R Work rechargeable head torch is the new addition to the Ledlenser Work series featuring a 10 second boost output which offers a maximum of 500 lumens, while the highest constant output is 300 lumens.

The HF4R Work has the same output and functionality of the HF4R Core, but with enhanced features and added accessories that make it tailored to the working environment, such as the yellow detailing on the head band and head lamp for increased visibility. Accessories include the helmet adhesive stickers and bracket for use on a hard hat.

One prominent enhancement is the higher colour rendering index of 80 and neutral white LED with a colour temperature of 4600 to 5400 K. The higher CRI means the beam resembles that of morning sunlight, making colours appear more clearly to the human eye and also reducing eye strain, which makes this great for professionals such as electricians who need to clearly see the difference in wire colours.

The light is a combination of spot and flood light which is operated with the power button on the top of the head torch by pressing it once to turn the light on, with each press after cycling through low mid, high and then off. Press the button within five seconds to cycle through the outputs or the next press will turn the torch off. The boost output can be activated by double pressing the button and will illuminate for 10 seconds before returning to the previous setting.

Press and hold the button for two seconds while the torch is off to switch between the white and red outputs. When in the red output press the button to turn the torch on or off.  

It is powered by a built-in 1800 mAh lithium-ion battery pack, with up to 2.5 hours run-time in the highest constant output. The battery pack sits on the back of the headband, which helps to evenly distribute weight. The battery is charged via the magnetic charging point located on the side of the battery pack by connecting the magnetic end of the included cable to the charging point, and the standard USB into a suitable USB port or adaptor. The four LED battery indicators will gradually increase until all four are solid green to show charging is complete after approximately 2 hours for a full charge.

The LED indicators will also light up when the torch is turned on to show the remaining battery power, with four indicating 100%, three indicating 75%, two indicating 50%, one indicating 25% and one flashing indicating below 25%. The light will flash twice to indicate low battery.

The swivel mechanism of the head lamp provides adjustment of the beam position within a 45° angle so that it can be exactly where you need it.

There is also a lock out mode to prevent accidental activation when not in use, which can be turned on or off by holding the button for 5 seconds until the light blinks twice.

The HF4R Work has a ingress protection thanks to the flex sealing technology, offering a rating of IPX8 and an increased robustness with a drop resistance of 2 metres, which makes it perfect for heavy duty environments such as a building site.

Please note: The Boost output is designed as a temporary function and will automatically return to the previous setting after 10 seconds. If the torch is overheating the Boost output will not be accessible.
