Ledlenser H19R SIGNATURE Rechargeable LED Head Torch

The brand new SIGNATURE Series is here, and the H19R Signature is the top model in the head torch series that replaces the iXEO19R. A 10 seconds boost output offers a maximum of 4000 lumens, while the highest constant output is 1800 lumens and the lowest constant output is 200 lumens.

The head torch also features a red light output, which is useful for preserving the eye's natural night vision, and for activities such as animal spotting, astrology and night reading.

Although similar in design and function to the H19R Core, the H19R Signature is a premium version that offers a higher output along with a range of extra accessories such as an extension cable and mains USB adaptor. Other accessories comprise of multiple mounting systems that include helmet clips, a GoPro mount, a tripod mount, a universal mounting bracket (handlebars etc.) and a helmet connecting system.

The main enhanced feature is the Bluetooth connectivity that allows the head torch to be connected to the included wireless remote control wristband for easy control, and it can also be connected to the Ledlenser app.

Unlike the H7R Signature, the H19R Signature doesn't have a dimming wheel and instead features three buttons on the top of the light (which correspond to the buttons on the wristband when connected). Similar to its predecessor it features two Xtreme LEDs, however they have two different lenses with one providing a flood focus and the other providing a spot focus. They can be used combined for a fusion beam pattern, or individually for a more tailored focus option.

To operate both beams together, simply press the middle button and torch will come on in high combined, with each press cycling through high, mid and low. The boost output can be activated by double pressing the button and will illuminate for 10 seconds before returning to the previous setting, and holding the button will turn off the combined mode. To turn either LED on independently, press either the right or left button and each press will cycle through high, mid, low and off.

While either LED is on individually, the output can be dimmed between the highest and lowest output by holding down the corresponding left or right button. A double press of either right or left button will enter the boost setting for the relevant LED. This allows you to select the perfect light brightness for the task at hand, and the last used output will be remembered when the light is turned back on. Strobe, position, SOS and blink modes are also available.

Optisense Technology provides automatic adaptation to the light conditions thanks to the integrated sensor, which prevents the light from bouncing back and blinding you when you are close to an object.

The red LED sits at the top between the two white LEDs and is activated by holding down the middle button for 3 seconds from off, without having to cycle any white modes, which preserves your eye's night vision. It can be turned off by pressing any of the three buttons.

A larger capacity 4800 mAh lithium-ion battery pack provides excellent run-times, with up to 3 hours, 30 minutes in the highest constant output. When the battery level drops to 25% or below, the light will enter the 200 lumen back up mode and run for a further 1 hour, 30 minutes to ensure you are not left in the dark and give you chance to recharge the battery.

The battery goes in a separate battery pack that sits on the back on the headband, which helps to evenly distribute weight, or the included extension cable enables the battery pack to be mounted on belt or back pack to lighten the weight on the head. The battery comes installed, however to remove or change it, the battery pack can be slid off the headband and the corner of the headband connector is inserted in the small slit on the end of the battery pack so that it can be twisted to the unlocked position. With the battery installed, connect the wire from the battery pack to the wire from the head lamp to provide power.

The battery can be charged inside the battery pack via the magnetic charging point located on the end. Connect the magnetic end of the included cable to the charging point, and the standard USB at the other end plugs into the included USB mains adaptor. The four LED battery indicators will gradually increases until all four are solid green to show charging is complete after approximately 5 hours, 30 minutes for a full charge.

The LED indicators will also light up when the torch is turned on to show the remaining battery power, with four indicating 100%, three indicating 75%, two indicating 50%, one indicating 25% and one flashing indicating below 25%.

The swivel mechanism of the head lamp provides stepless adjustment of the beam position within a 130° angle so that it can be exactly where you need it, while the highly reflective headband enables drivers to easily see you in the dark.

There is also a lock out mode to prevent accidental activation when not in use, which can be activated by holding the middle button for 5 seconds until the light blinks twice. To come out of lock out mode, hold the button for 8 seconds until the light blinks twice.

The H19R Signature has improved ingress protection thanks to the flex sealing technology, now offering a rating of IP68 making it fully resistant to solids and fully waterproof when submerged in water up to a depth of 2 metres for 30 minutes, which makes it perfect for everyday use and outdoor activities such as fishing, camping and hiking.
