Fenix HM65R-DT Trail Running Rechargeable LED Head Torch

The Fenix HM65R-DT is the new updated version of the HM65R-T available in three colours. A rechargeable head torch that is designed for trail running, delivering a maximum output of 1500 lumens when the two spotlights are combined.

For extra durability and resilience the HM65R-DT is made from lightweight magnesium alloy, which is 30% lighter than the equivalent aluminium alloy body, and it is drop resistant to 2 metres distance as well as being waterproof to IP68 standard, which makes it perfect for outdoor activities.

The right hand white light LED provides a spotlight that can reach up to 170 metres with a maximum output of 1300 lumens in the turbo setting. The left hand warm white light LED provides a spotlight with a maximum output of 400 lumens and a beam range of 92 metres. The lights are controlled separately and can be used individually or combined.

Two buttons are located on top of the head torch and are operated in the same way with one controlling the warm white light LED and the other controlling the white light LED. Press and hold either button for 0.5 seconds to turn the light on and then each press will cycle through low, mid and high in the corresponding mode. Holding the relevant button for 0.5 seconds will turn the light off and the last used setting will be remembered next time the light is turned on.

To prevent accidental activation the HM65R-DT has a lockout function. To access the lockout, with the lamp turn off, press and hold either or both buttons for 3 seconds and the low flood will blink four times to show it is in lockout. Press both buttons simultaneously for 3 seconds to unlock the light.

The included 18650 rechargeable 3400 mAh lithium-ion battery is charged inside the headlamp via the USB Type-C charging port which is located on the back of the headlamp. Simply lift the dust cover and plug in the USB Type-C cable at one end and plug the standard USB end into a USB port or a USB adaptor. The four charging indicators that sit between the two buttons will gradually illuminate until all four are lit to show charging is complete, which takes approximately 3 hours with a 3400 mAh battery.

Two CR123A lithium metal batteries can be used with this head torch, however they are not rechargeable therefore please do not attempt to charge the torch with these batteries installed.

The four LED indicators also light up when either button is pressed when the light is off or when the torch is turned on to show remaining battery power. Four LEDs is 81-100% power, three LEDs is 61-80% power, two LEDs is 41-60% power, one LED is 21-40% and one flashing LED is less than 20% power and the torch should be charged as soon as possible when at this stage.

The newly designed headband has now been widened for a more comfortable fit, with the hollow design providing more breathability and the headband also features reflective strips, which are excellent for enhanced visibility. The new BOA design allows easy and fast adjustment of the headband size so you can achieve the perfect fit with just one hand. Simply twist the clasp clockwise to shorten the headband, or pull the clasp upwards to release and loosen off the headband.

The headlamp bracket is ergonomically designed to comfortably fit the curvature of the head and it also allows the head torch to be tilted within a 60° angle.

Note: *The high spot output is measured at total run-time, including output at reduced levels due to temperature or the built-in protection mechanism.

Tested in laboratory conditions to ANSI/PLATO FL1 standard using a Fenix 3400 mAh 18650 lithium-ion rechargeable battery under the temperature of 21±3°C and humidity of 50% - 80%. Results may vary between torch, battery and environments.
