GP Xplor PHR19 Outdoor Adventure Rechargeable LED Head Torch

The GP Xplor PHR19 is a rechargeable head torch that is designed for adventures into the great outdoors.

The two high power LEDs output an intensely bright beam of 1200 lumens on the turbo output, which is a combined beam of both the Spotlight and floodlight. The spotlight can provide an output of up to 800 lumens cool white light and a beam range of 110 metres, while the warm white floodlight has an output of up to 400 lumens and a beam range of 60 metres. Beacon and SOS modes are also available.

The floodlight and spotlight are controlled with separate buttons, and the last used setting is memorised for easy access to your preferred mode. Lockout mode can prevent accidental activation and is accessed by holding down both buttons for 3 seconds and the red indicator will flash red twice. To unlock the torch simultaneously hold down both buttons for 3 seconds again and the green indicator will flash twice. Please refer to the manual download for full operation instructions.

The included 18650 rechargeable 2550 mAh lithium-ion battery is charged inside the headlamp via the USB-C charging port which is revealed by unscrewing the cover on one end of the head torch. Insert the USB-C cable at one end and plug the standard USB end into a USB port or a USB adaptor. The charging light will go red while charing and turn green once charging is complete.

Two CR123A lithium metal batteries can also be used with this head torch, however they are not rechargeable therefore please do not attempt to charge the torch with these batteries installed.

The head strap attaches to a bracket which allows the torch to be rotated within a 160° angle to direct the beam where you need it and a battery power indicator can be activated while the light is off to check the status of the battery.

Low: 40 lumens; 38 hours run-time; 15 m beam range

Warm White Flood Light:
High: 400 lumens; 4 hours, 30 minutes run-time; 62 m beam range
Mid: 250 lumens; 6 hours run-time; 40 m beam range
Low: 40 lumens; 18 hours, 30 minutes run-time; 15 m beam range
Ultra-Low: 10 lumens; 100 hours run-time; 5 m beam range

Note:* The overheat protection will reduce the light output if the torch becomes too warm to prevent overheating.

Very bright for its size.

Small enough to go on a keyring but bright enough to be useful.
The battery lasts a fair time (I'd guess around 30 minutes use) I've had to charge it less than once a month - and the button changes from green to red when it needs charging.

Big OH ! Olight Marauder 2

I never understood all the fuss about the Olight range of “expensive” flashlights even though I own a small collection of other quality flashlights.
I seen the Olight Mini advertised for €135.00 on a French site recently I bought it & was so impressed with it I now own its bigger brother the Marauder 2.

The quality build the solid feel in your hand and the 800 metre throw, it’s like holding a Light Sabre.

Guys I’ve been there with Imalent 34000 lumen models, always hard to hold and super heavy still a very good built flashlight especially the flood feature but Olight has raised the bar for me in terms of quality build; fantastic technology and super easy to hold and store.

Olight……. OH YES.
Invest guys you won’t regret it.

Great throw and spill

Great service from TorchDirect with helpful support over the phone. I opted for the warm version as I find it easier on the eye. The torch is robust and has a great non slip finish. It sits well in the hand and is easier to operate be it in basic or advance modes. For purists it’s not a perfect beam on a white wall but this doesn’t show up in ‘normal’ use and is far outweighed by the excellent balance of throw and spill making it great for walking or indoor use. The torch can tailstand (great for power cuts) and has a strong magnet to attach to anything magnetic.

Bought this torch for it’s runtime spec and that you can replace the battery or carry a spare with you if needed. For my needs this is the perfect head torch, operation is simple, the various light levels are ample i think for most people and it is comfortable to wear with the wide headband. My only mistake ordering this torch was i didn’t realise the difference between usb-c and usb-c micro which was what i had so i needed to order the usb-c charger and a usb-c to usb-a lead for home use. The torch is great snd you shouldn’t be disappointed if you purchase one.
