Fenix TK22 TAC LED Torch

The Fenix TK22 TAC is designed with Military and Law Enforcement professionals in mind, and features a mechanical tactical tail switch that has a rotary collar to easily change between tactical, duty and lockout modes.

Utilising a Luminus SST470 LED it offers a maximum output of 2800 lumens on high and throws the beam up to 540 metres, providing an excellent combination of output and distance.

The innovative Advanced Pulse Frequency signal transmission technology uses a digital switch signal instead of the usual current signal to greatly increase reliability. Combined with patented mechanical switches this allows Fenix to create a smaller, more efficient light that is much less prone to switching interference than similar magnetic tail cap systems.

It is powered using the included Fenix 21700 5000 mAh USB rechargeable lithium-ion battery which is charged outside of the torch via the USB-C charging port on the battery itself using the included USB-C charging cable for fast charging. Simply plug the USB-C end of the cable into the battery and the standard USB-A end into a USB power source to begin charging. A red light will illuminate on the battery to show charging is in progress, and turn blue once charging is complete.

Only the included ARB-L21-5000U battery or ARB-L21-5000 and ARB-L21-4000P battery are compatible for use with the TK22 TAC.

Two user modes are available, with different outputs for each mode. In tactical mode the user will have access to turbo and strobe only, and in duty mode outputs of eco, low, mid, high and strobe are accessible (turbo cannot be access in duty mode). The rotary collar below the tail switch allows the user to select the mode by turning it clockwise for tactical mode or anticlockwise for duty mode.

When tactical mode is selected half press the button for momentary turbo access or fully press the button for constant turbo access. In duty mode half press for momentary operation, or continually half press to cycle through eco, low, mid, high. Fully press in the switch to constantly turn the torch on at the desired output and full press to turn the light off. Once on, the modes can also be cycled through with half presses. The last used brightness level in duty mode will remember the next time the torch is turned on.

Strobe can be accessed from either tactical or duty by fully pressing and holding the button for 0.8 seconds. To exit strobe either half press to return to the previous brightness or fully press the button to turn the torch off.

If left in the centre position the torch will be in lockout mode and the button will not work. The torch can be put into the locked position while the torch is turned on to lock in that output to ensure the light stays on and the tail switch cannot be accidentally pressed to change mode, or alternatively with the light off the torch will be locked in the off position to prevent accidental activation when not in use.

Intelligent overheat protection will lower the output of the torch if the internal temperature reaches 60°C in order to cool the torch and prevent damage from overheating. Once the torch has cooled the high mode can be selected again. If the battery voltage drops below the preset level the torch is programmed to downshift to a lower brightness level until low output is reached, at which point the light will flash 3 times every 5 minutes to remind you to recharge or replace your battery.

The pocket clip allows easy attachment to a pocket, clothing or backpack and the included holster and lanyard make carrying it easy.

Note: *The turbo and high output are measured at total run-time, including output at reduced levels due to temperature or the built-in protection mechanism. Turbo output is only available in the tactical mode.

Tested in laboratory conditions to ANSI/PLATO FL1 standard using 1 x Fenix ARB-L21-5000U 21700 lithium-ion rechargeable battery under the temperature of 21±3°C and humidity of 50% - 80%. Results may vary between torch, battery and environments.
