Coast HP3R Rechargeable Dual Power LED Torch

The Coast HP3R has been upgraded to offer a whole host of new features, starting out with an increase of maximum output up to 500 lumens on high. The dual power options are still available, however the lithium polymer battery has been swapped out for a ZX320 USB-C rechargeable lithium-ion battery.

There are now also 3 brightness level options instead of 2, and three bite caps are included so that for those who like to hold the torch in their mouth can do so more comfortably and without damaging their teeth.

The dual power system means that it can be powered by the included ZX320 USB-C rechargeable lithium-ion battery, or it can use two non-rechargeable AAA alkaline batteries that can be swapped out for lower outputs but longer run-times, which is perfect as a back up if you run out of charge and are away from a power source.

The ZX320 battery features a USB-C port built into the top of the battery so that it can be charged outside of the torch using the included USB-C to split USB-C/USB-A cable via a USB port or using a suitable mains/car charger (not included), which is great if you want to charge your battery and still continue using the torch with AAA batteries.

The battery can also be charged inside the torch via the hidden Pro-Tek charging port built into the tail which can be revealed by twisting just the top section of the tail cap above the red line.  While charging is in progress an LED indicator glows red next to the torch charging port, and turns green once charging is complete. Never attempt to charge the torch with AAA alkaline batteries inserted.

Quick half presses of the tactical tail switch from off cycles high, mid, low, and you can fully press the button in on the required output, giving you the option to choose the right level for your application.

Using Coast's twist focusing beam system, the beam can be focused between a spot beam with a range of up to 89 metres, and a flood beam with one hand by twisting the head of the HP3R.

Dust and water resistant to IP54 standards, it is perfect for DIY, electrical inspection, checking under bonnets and small general daily tasks.

Using the ZX320 lithium-ion battery:
High: 500 lumens; 1 hour, 30 minutes run-time; 89 m beam range
Mid: 185 lumens; 3 hours, 45 minutes run-time; 55 m beam range
Low: 26 lumens; 12 hours run-time; 20 m beam range

Using 2 x AAA alkaline batteries:
High: 85 lumens; 3 hours, 30 minutes run-time; 36 m beam range
Mid: 42 lumens; 6 hours run-time; 26 m beam range
Low: 8 lumens; 70 hours run-time; 10 m beam range
