Nitecore NU05 V2 Rechargeable LED Head Torch Kit

The Nitecore NU05 V2 kit is a multifunctional light that updates the original with a higher output of 40 lumens and now uses USB-C charging, while maintaining it's ultra compact and light weight design that is ideally suited to close range lighting or back up duties.

The lamp unit is super versatile as it can be worn on the head or helmet with the included headband, clipped onto clothing or a backpack using the integrated clip or with the supplied mount it can be attached to a bike. It is powered by a built-in lithium-ion battery which is recharged via the USB-C port on the bottom of the light using the included USB charging cable. When plugged in to charge the indicator will flash red to show charging is progress and go solid once charging is complete after approximately 1 hour, 45 minutes.

When the light is off the battery level can be checked by holding the button down for one second and it will flash red either 3 times for above 50% power, twice for below 50% power or once for below 10% power, at which point the light should be charged as soon as possible.

The NU05 V2 offers a two white LEDs which can be set to constant on or flashing and two red LEDs that provides slow flashing or quick flashing. Red light is particularly useful as a rear light either on the back of the head, a back pack, clothing or bike seat post so that others can easily see your location.

The white constant is good for up close tasks that require low level lighting, while the white flash is good for use as a location marker or to draw attention. The red slow flash is good for steady activities such as trekking, while the red quick flashing may be more suited to fast paced activities such as running or cycling. There is also an addition single red LED indicator light, that slowly flashes and can be used as a warning light.

A round power button is located in the middle of the light and is turned on by pressing the button and turned off by either going through the modes or after it has been in one mode longer than 3 seconds the next press turns the light off. Once turned on the modes are cycled through by pressing the button within 3 seconds to go through red indicator, red slow blink, red fast blink, white blink and constant red.

To prevent accidental activation when not in use, the NU05 V2 can be put into lockout mode. Firstly turn the light on and then hold the button down for 1 second to access the lockout, and once done the indicator will flash once if the button is pressed. To exit the lockout mode simply hold the button down for 3 seconds.
