Armed with only his talent, his determination and his reverence for hard work, Tony Maglica set out in pursuit of the American Dream when he founded Mag Instrument in 1955. He went on to design and manufacture a torch that revolutionised the category. I purchased this as I was fed up of carrying around the brick of a bank we’d bought elsewhere, this one is lightweight, compact and seems pretty well built. The first one I was sent was faulty, but within 24 hours contacting Torch Direct, I had a replacement sent out - amazing customer service.
Does the job
A really well built and practical tool.
I bought this after my P7R finally died after many years of faithful service. Compared to the P7R, the LEP mode has (as you would expect) far greater range than the most focussed beam on the P7R. The flood is not as powerful, but good enough for my requirements, and you do not have the adjustment from flood to spot. Overall I am really pleased with this torch, definitely an upgrade for my purposes, where I want to switch between flood and LEP and don't really need anything in between. But if you need a good compact flood more than the range then maybe stick to the P7R. Great communication and delivery from Torch Direct!

I wanted a torch for my husband. There was plenty of choice, and he was happy with the torch that I chose.
This item arrived very quickly, even thought it was the leadup to Christmas. It was a present for my daughter's fiance, who was very pleased with it. A very powerful light, and a neat, manageable size.
Excellent service and great prices
This is a neat, slim small torch, that has a clever way to charge it, and switch it on. It has two levels of brightness, easily toggled by the one button.
It comes in different colours too, so take your pick!
Torch is spot on,
Use it for mechanical work in dark places,
On a low it works best for close work,
Can’t use it on full power to bright,
All round feels solid an able to last long time on the battery
Christmas present for my wife as her very old maglite really wasn’t worth the new bulb. This is slightly larger, very bright. Probably not as robust as the 15+ year old one it replaced. Delivery was good, free engraving, nice touch as it was a gift.
My husband bought one of these torches for our son - after his quest for a really decent torch. Now I’m buying him a second one for himself. To quote him - “he will never buy any other torch again”
I've been using this torch for working on cars, very bright and lasts long time.
